My review concerns THIS product, not the original Government Issue can openers that some reviewers are referring to (Which I'm certain were of the highest quality as they were needed for daily use). THIS product is not made of the best quality metal. Mine also bent on first use. I did manage to open a can (once I figured out the proper direction to turn the can in order to pry it against the cutting edge). It's a tedious process, but good for emergency use. I bought this after Hurricane Irene, as I was one of the people with no power and an electric can opener. I wanted to try this because I had seen a similar item, which WAS actual US Army issue, years ago (My uncle had one from WWII).
