My original Jet Boil didn't come with these accessories, and having them really improves the functionality of the system. Some of the newer packages come with them so check first. The stabilizer is a support you use to add legs to your fuel cell. It supports both the 4 oz and 8 oz sizes. The pot support attaches to the top of the stove to allow you to use it for pots, and other inter-connected ways of using the stove. This opens up your options. While it isn't required to have either of these, the system already works great, it's a nice improvement that adds stability and options. One great feature I love about this system is how compact it is and how little it weighs. I've put together a video showing how the parts work and how it all stores inside of the main cooking cup. I use the titanium Snow Peak 900 (or Solo Mini, or 700) and I pack my stove, fuel, etc. into the cooking canisters in the same way that Jetboil does. The Jetboil stabilizer folds up with a hole in the middle. You can put it at the bottom of your pot, place the fuel canister top down so it fits in the hold in the stabilizer, followed by a small stove (Giga Power, Soto, MSR Pocket Rocket, etc.) and the lid. Other brands of stabilizers fold into a long bar which can't be stored in the cooking canister.Cons: I had to throw out the pot stabilizer since I don't use the (proprietary) Jetboil system. It'd be nice if these were sold separately since they don't appear to be related to each other in terms of function. Also, the stabilizer I received was ORANGE, not black as pictured.
