The hardest part was to loosen the nut on the old spigot - had to use a pliers. Then it was simply twist out the old one - twist in the new one - put on the washer and nut and tighten.It all took less than 5 minutes including going and look for a pliers. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Great spigot, By S. I did have to use a circular file to make the hole slightly bigger for the spigot to fit into the water container. Once fitted it worked perfectly. Too bad Bluewave water containers have a manufacturing defect and all their facets leak. Best Choice For DIY Projects, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Spigot (Fits All IGLOO 1,2,3,5,&10 Gal Bev Coolers) other brands may not fit (Kitchen) I wanted to install a drain plug/valve on a 7 gallon Sterilite tub I use for gardening, so I wouldn't have to lift the tub to empty it--that's about 60 lbs of water. I ordered this product (Igloo-type), AND comparable Brita-type, Coleman, and Rubbermaid replacement plugs. The Igloo and Rubbermaid were the ones that didn't leak at all, even with the tub completely full. The black rubber o-ring on the Igloo type is crucial; the plain plastic or foam gaskets on the Brita and Coleman models weren't as effective for this purpose. A Brita-type valve would have been nice, as you don't have to hold it open, but OTOH this push-button variety is less likely to be damaged or opened accidentally. It also has that edge over the Rubbermaid IMO. So I'll keep the Rubbermaid as a spare, but the Igloo is my #1 choice. |
