I had bought this product to fill a gap in my camping gear. It is a very simple concept, a portable reusable, and attractive fire ring. It was to be used to have a small controllable campfire in the back yard on the "camping in the back yard nights" with the kids. It was very simple to set up and seemed to work just fine for a small camp fire. I had made sure that there were several inches from the fire to the ring and that the fire never touched the ring. It made no difference, the paint on the ring just kept bubbling, and bubbling until it fell off. This happened on the very first fire and it was not a very big fire at all. We were burning small dead fall branches and twigs. Our camp fire was going for maybe two-three hours at most. It was just big... She said I could have a fire at the end of her driveway and I took her up on the offer. I guess some paint peeled off, as that seemed to be the biggest concern from those who had purchased this item, but I didn't think it was anything major. It's a fire pit, for crying out loud, and it matters not if it's all pretty and wonderful looking. More important to me is the fact that it is super easy to assemble, if you even want to call it that since all one does is drop two "pin-like" items in the one region. Also, I like that this doesn't have to be elevated off the ground a bit in order for oxygen to get to the fire. Reason being, the little cut out lantern things let the air in. This worked perfectly fine for me and was easy to put back into the nice carry bag. It's plenty big too.
