4.0 out of 5 stars Depends on the cup size...., February 7, 2009

I've used the 28-cup for over a year now, and it has brewed many a fine cup of coffee at camp. You do end up with grounds in the bottom of the pot, but that's normal for other percolators I've used as well. I have to use a hot pad for the handle, since it's the conical shaped one without the wood handle. I'd recommend going to GSI's website for pictures of the cup size you are ordering. The 3, 6, 9, and 12 cup are all straight sided. The 8, 14, 28, and 36 cup are the conical ones.

1.0 out of 5 stars dam liars, not as pictured!!!!!!!!!!!!!, June 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
Amazon needs to crack down on idiots who use 1 picture to sell many diffrent types/style of the same product, when infact the picture is VERY misleading when it comes to the diffrent types. I got the 6 cup model because the picture clearly shows a wire handle for camp fire use... which i wanted/NEED!!!

The 6 cup model doesnt have a wire handle and is NOTHING like the picture!!

Beware! AMAZON is partly to blame and i hear this is more and more common!
BTW is also made in china, which the seller leaves out (of course)

sigh

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, nice finish, and great coffee !, March 7, 2010

As someone pointed out, not all of the sizes are cone shaped, some of them are straight on the sides and not as the picture shows. I think they are right, it is the 12, 14 and 28 that ARE cone shaped. I purchased the 14 cup. I really like it. Better brew than my coffee maker. I use a standard coffee filter and just tear a slight little hole in the bottom middle and force it over the percolator stem, then fold over the edges and the top of the perk system holds it in place nicely. That method works great for me. It even makes clean up easier too because the grounds come right out with the filter, AND best of all no grounds in your coffee. The decal, was very easy to remove. I'm not sure why that person had a rough time with it. I poured the pot full of the hottest tap water I could from my sink, gave it a minute to heat up the adhesive just by the fact that the pot got warm and the decal pulled right off. Just dont get the decal wet, very important. There was a small spot with adhesive... Read more
