I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this product but I was looking for a vegetarian kit for my wife. I tasted several of the packets and thought they were pretty good. Very bold taste which I could tell would not be for everyone. However, my wife enjoyed the ones we sampled so the purchase was a success. As an emergency food source, the product is great, easy to prepare, and comes in a convenient canister.

If you remember that these meals are meant a an emergency food source, or a light weight backpacking meal, they are great. Anyone looking to cook these up and eat at home is nuts. The sodium in these meals is WAY more then you should be consuming. Besides being less then healthy in the long run, it results in quite a "strong" flavor. Also, don't kid yourself with the servings listed, most adults will easily eat 2 servings, so figure that into your nutritional totals which will bring sodium up to 1,500mg or more per meal.
With that in mind, if there is some crisis causing an interruption in food supply, and you can't get food at your grocery, these things will taste like the best meal you have ever had! We're talking survival here. Also, when you are hiking all day everything tastes good and if you're hiking in warm conditions the add'l sodium will actually be a bonus. Buy these for the right reason and you can't go wrong.

I purchased a case of these meals in preparation of a backpacking-filled summer. These meals took over 90 days to ship to me, and while a representative called to assure me that I would be getting them shortly, it was not the wait that disappointed me. When I finally received my case of meals, one meal was burst open from rough handling during shipping. As you can expect, they fared just as well in my backpack. The foil is about as durable as a snowball in Bermuda. I ended up vacuum sealing the remainder, because the Ziplock vacuum bags are actually more durable. I will not be doing business with Wise again anytime soon.
