The heat exchanger is a very minimal weight increase with a notable effect on efficiency. The .95L is great for 1-2 people, the .6L would save you a few ounces if you are just looking to boil water for dehydrated meals, but the .95L is big enough to actually cook a real meal in. The lid works fine as a mini fry pan, I also use it for a mug. Another hiker had bought it at an outdoor store near the trail to replace a larger titanium pot that wasn't working out well for him. I recently used this pot on a 4-day/3-night hike in the Smokey Mountains and was very pleased with it's performance. Combined with my "White Box" alcohol stove, which seems to have been made for this pot, I had cold water to a rolling boil in just a little over four minutes. The lid serves as a great coffee mug while the pot itself is large enough for one-pot meals. The anodized aluminum pot seems to be a better heat conductor than titanium so it cooks faster. An added bonus: all of my cooking and eating utensils fit into one tidy, light weight package. The pair worked better than I expected. When used with a Svea 123/R leave the Pot standards turned inwards, Seemed very stable this way. If you know how your stove already performs you will be impressed with how fast you get boiling water with the Heat Collection bottom of the HE unit. I can carry much less fuel now with my Optimus HE. In like manner, how it is lighter to carry a water purifier than to carry all the water you need for a few day trip. After cooling, I place the Svea stove inside the included Optimus net sack, to protect the pots inner non-stick coating. Both fit nicely inside the Optimus HE 0.95.
